Company History

C and C is an aggressive family owned company that was established in 1994 by Gaylon Cowan.

Gaylon attended Indian Hills Community College, graduating with honors and a degree in Machine Technology. After graduation Gaylon went to work for Vermeer Manufacturing where he was employed as a machinist for 4 years. During this time he took a part-time teaching position for the night course of Machine Technology offered at Indian Hills. Gaylon eventually left Vermeer to accept a full-time teaching position where he continued to teach for 4 years.

In this same period of time Gaylon bought a couple of machines which he set up in his Fathers's barn. Utilizing business connections at Vermeer Manufacturing and Al-Jon Inc. which had been formed during his time spent teaching, Gaylon and a couple of his students started doing outsourced work for both companies on a part time basis.

Gaylon's dedication to his part time business soon forced him into full time production and he resigned his teaching career to pursue the new business.

In 1996 with C and C Machining's customer base growing, expansion was inevitable and Gaylon offered a partnership to his brother Geoff Cowan. Geoff brought with him strong business knowledge, as he had been owner/operator of a small trucking company. The brothers bought a small building in Centerville (Dad was glad to have his barn back). It was soon evident once again that that they needed additional room so another building was purchased and yet another was rented to house the then needed weld shop. Due to their pursuit of excellence in Quality, On Time Delivery, Customer Servicing and Good Employees C and C soon outgrew those buildings also. The decision was made to build a new 36,000 sq. ft. building. Construction began in the fall of 2000, and was completed in August of 2001. We have since moved in and are now looking to fill our newly acquired space with your product line.
